Bible Study: Living A Thankful Life

Image
Parents spend a lot of time teaching their children a simple phrase to say when someone gives them something: "Thank you!" Those two words go a long way in showing appreciation for what someone else has done. Do we always lead a thankful life as we get older? Do we pause to acknowledge where all our blessings come from? Join us in this 8-week study on Biblical Stewardship starting July 20, as we recognize and give God thanks for all his blessings.

Bible Study: Mission Of The Church

Image
Before Jesus ascended, He gave His church a powerful mission. At Emanuel, we embrace this calling with our mission statement: "Gather! Grow! Go!" Are you ready to explore what these words mean for your spiritual journey? Want to understand how God's "marching orders" apply to your daily life and our shared life as a congregation? Come join our 3-week Bible Class , kicking off on June 29 ! We'll examine our Mission Statement and unpack how it helps us fulfill God's direct commands for us all. Don't miss this opportunity to grow in your faith!

Rite of Confirmation 2025

Image
We are pleased to announce that the Rite of Confirmation for 24 young men and women will be held on Sunday, May 4th, during our regular Sunday worship services. These confirmands will publicly profess their faith in Jesus Christ and commit to lifelong faithfulness. Due to the ongoing installation of our new pipe organ, the balcony will remain closed. To accommodate this, the confirmands will be divided between our two Sunday services: 8:00 AM Service: Confirmation of our PSI students. 10:30 AM Service: Confirmation of our ELS students. The public examination of both groups of confirmands will take place between the services, beginning around 9:15 AM in the church sanctuary. To help manage the expected high attendance on Sunday morning, we encourage those who are not immediate family members of the confirmands to consider attending our Saturday evening service at 5:15 PM in the sanctuary. This would greatly assist in ensuring sufficient seating for the families of those being confirmed....

After lining up, the children will start the worship service by walking down the aisle with their branches and placing them near the altar. All children will receive a palm branch to take home as a memento from the service. This will take place both on Saturday night and Sunday services. We hope your family joins us!

October is Pastor Appreciation Month

Image
At Emanuel, we're fortunate to have four dedicated pastors who are always available to support our spiritual journey. From baptisms and confirmations to weddings and funerals, they provide guidance and comfort through every life event. Our pastors are also actively involved in our community, visiting hospitals and nursing homes, teaching Bible classes, and delivering inspiring sermons based on God's Word. Their commitment to our spiritual well-being is a true blessing for our church family. As Proverbs 3:13 reminds us, "How blessed is the person who finds wisdom, the person who acquires understanding." Our pastors are a source of wisdom and understanding, guiding us along the path of righteousness. Appreciation boxes have been placed in the commons on the weekends of October 27 and November 3, for Pastors Mark Tiefel, Seth Dorn, Marcus Schulz, and Bill Heiges to share your well-wishes, thank-you notes, and monetary gifts.
