  • This week we learned the Bible lesson, "Jesus Blesses the Children."  We learned that the disciples tried to turn away small children and their families and this angered our Savior.  He said, "Let the children come to me."  Jesus showed his disciples that even the smallest children were important to him.  We want you to know that he says that to you too!  Bring your children to Jesus at church, school, JAM, and devotions at home.  Jesus wants them around even when they are wiggly, talkative, and squirmy!  Especially then!  Children are models of faith that Jesus sets up for grown-ups, faith like a child!  Keep bringing them to Jesus!
  • Thank you, thank you, thank you amazing families!  Lenten supper serving was a HUGE success!  We had delicious food donations, extensive product donations, amazing volunteers, and so much fun!!  Our church family was so grateful for the wonderful supper provided, smiles given, and the wonderful service provided.  Thank you truly from the bottom of my heart for helping me say thank you to our church family by serving supper!!  The children also learned an amazing experiential lesson of serving as Jesus would which is invaluable!!
  • This week we worked on patterning.  This time we branched into more difficult patterns with animals.  The children began grasping the concept of ABC and ABB patterns.  We are going to continue those next week to help instill the concept even more.  Our other group was working on the concept of small, medium, and large and how that relates to the size of their family.  While drawing their families, the children considered different ordering ideas - smallest to biggest, youngest to oldest, girl/boy pattern.  Check out the drawings that came home and ask how they put their family in order!
  • Our storytime continued to focus on conflict resolution.  This week we added questions afterward.  What could be done differently next time?  Why would the character feel that way?  How would you feel?  These questions help our children think thorugh their feelings while they are calm so they can act positively when they are not.  These questions also help our children engage in critical thinking because there isn't just one answer!
