  • "In all things, God works for the good of those who love Him."(Romans 8:28)  We hear this verse and pray that it is true.  Joseph lived its very meaning.  Joseph had brothers who hated him.  They treated him poorly, hurt him, and even tried to kill him.  In the end, he was sold away into slavery in Egypt.  Through all of the misfortune and results of sin, Joseph stayed close to God.  He called upon Him for help and support.  Next week we will learn how God used the results of sin to protect Joseph and ultimately all of God's people.  As you walk through life, remember the Lord is with you.  He will make the results of sin work for the good of His kingdom.  Keep praying and leaning on Him!  He is our strength!
  •  October Thrive Time Video Come to Parent Power on Sunday to discuss how to give kids roots and wings: a discussion on parenting styles and behaviors.

  • COME! COME! COME! We sing in church! This Sunday! October 5 is the first time we get to praise Jesus in church. We sing at the 8:00 am service. Please arrive by 7:45 am in the church basement. We will sit together as a class and meet you when the service is over in the Gathering Space near the Connection Corner. We are singing a new song called, "I'm Gonna Live So God Can Use Me!" It is linked below so you can practice. It is super fun to sing this one, so grown-ups, sing along! I'm Gonna Live So God Can Use Me (Just press the video button when you scroll down a little.)


  • Wednesday, October 8th, is Picture Retake day. If your child did not have their picture taken in July for Back-to-School day OR if your child needs a retake, please send them to school ready for their school picture. Pictures will be taken between 9-11:30. If your child is in 3K/4K and does not attend school during that day/time, you can bring your child to the school office before 11:30 to have their picture taken. If your child requires a retake, notify your child’s teacher so they can send that child down for their picture. If you do not notify the teacher, your child will not be able to have their picture retaken. 
  • We are excited to travel to the Police and Fire Stations on Thursday, October 9! Please return the permission slip as soon as possible.  All 3K Monday/Wednesday students are invited to join us even though it is not their day of class.  Those students can choose morning or afternoon.  All other students will attend during their normal class time.  Please mark the permission slip accordingly.  If you or another grown up would like to chaperone, please check with me or Ms. Kim for your background status.  If you need a background check complete, remember there is a $15 fee.  Please do this as soon as possible!  We will leave school on the bus about 15 minutes after the start of class, be gone about 2 hours, and return to school to finish our day with snack and Interest Time.  If you have any questions, please reach out!
  • We are so excited to have our students invite their grandparents or other special people in their lives to come and share a morning at Emanuel with us!  The hard copy invitations came home this week.  Here are digital copies to send! Grandparents' Day Invitations  On Friday(yes Friday!! A special extra day!), October 24, students are encouraged to bring their grandparents to school with them for the morning.  Remember, this is a half day(7:40-11:30 am).  If students' grandparents are unable to attend, please feel free to invite other special people in their lives to attend.  We are thrilled at the opportunity to share the love of Jesus that fills Emanuel every day with grandparents and special guests!
