- The Christmas DVDs are available in the office. Please stop by the office at your earliest convenience to pay the $2/copy and pick them up!
- What would you do if your legs didn't work? Who would you count on? There was a man whose legs didn't work, he was paralyzed. He depended on his friends to get him where he needed to go. His friends knew that Jesus had all the power and could heal their friend. When they got to the house where Jesus was teaching, it was FULL!! They didn't give up. They climbed to the rooftop, made a hole in the roof, and lowered their friend to Jesus. Jesus gave the man something greater than his legs, he forgave his sins! Because some church workers were grumbling, Jesus showed them His power by healing the legs as well! Jesus put his power on full display for all to see. He was their God and is our God too! He loves us and has given us that greatest gift of sins forgiven as well!
- In storytime, we focused on comparing books by the same author, predicting what would happen, and identifying the characters of a story. We read Happy Valentine's Day, Mouse last week. This week we found those same characters in more of Laura Numeroff's books! It was exciting to see the children make connections day to day from story to story. Check them out! - Track 'n' Field Night is one week away!! This is a great evening of celebrating our little people from the Lord! Let's come together for a meal provided - subs, chips, and water. Then we will have all the little ones compete in silly track 'n' field events! It is so much fun to get out with your child's class, meet some new people, see them competing for what might be the first time, and not worry about supper!! It is February 25 from 5:30-7:00pm. Praying you can all make it out! Please RSVP to Mrs. D!
- We have the great opportunity to sing in church in just over a week! We will be singing two songs, Shine Shine Your Light! and Beautiful Savior vs 1. We have been working very hard in school to learn these. Any practice at home will only help us! We will sing for both services(8:00 & 10:30) We will plan to arrive by 7:45 on Sunday(2/27) in the church basement. We will sit together as a class through the 8:00a service, walk down to Sunday School between services, and then sing again at the beginning of the 10:30a service. When done with the second singing, we will walk out to you! This will be the last opportunity to sing in church for our class alone so we hope you can all make it!
Every Wednesday beginning on Ash Wednesday (3/2) between Lenten services (4:30-7:00 pm) there is a fellowship supper. Praise the Lord the suppers are back!! It is a chance to have fellowship and a good meal while worshipping our Lord! I signed up for the 3P 4K, and Tiger Cub Care to host the dinner on March 2nd!
Here are my ideas! I am planning that we provide a potluck-style supper. Potluck meaning that the children and families of the 3P, 4K, and TCC bring a dish to pass to share with our church family. Attached there is a signup sheet for different items that can be donated, from main dishes, sides, desserts, paper products, etc. If you are so moved to donate an item, you would place your name on the list in the appropriate spot. I will also need some help in setup, serving, and cleaning up.I always think it is nice if we have greeters, door holders, carriers, etc. If you are able to serve in one of these capacities, you also put your name on the list. I do not expect anyone to HAVE to sign up. I also will not stop you if you want to put your name on more than one line!! This is completely voluntary. I believe it is a great way to model for our children how to serve others as Jesus served His disciples by washing their feet or feeding the more than 5000. This is a fun time to serve, but also to get to know others in your class and your church! Here is the Lenten Supper Sign-up Sheet. - I realized that I forgot to send January's pictures home!
