- Joshua Fought the Battle of Jericho! We sang this week of Joshua and how God used His Almighty Power to show His people to TRUST HIM! God gave an unusual battle plan-marching, shouting, trumpets-not fighting and weapons. The people trusted God, and He delivered his people a victory. He once again He demonstrates with no uncertainty that we should TRUST HIM. It isn't easy due to our sinful nature to trust the Lord, but He will help us. Trust the Lord and His plan for your life!
- November Thrive Time Video Please take a few minutes to review this video. It helps us understand how our brain thinks critically. It also gave me some new ideas such as:
- There is no short cut to memorization! We can make it more enjoyable when we change the process(short or long), the sound(say or sing), or the who(on own or with others).
- Having a growth mindset helps children be willing to fail and keep trying.
- Giving children real encouragement is helpful. Saying, "Thank you for working hard" vs. "That's wonderful/perfect. Good job." Encouraging hard work and tenacity creates children who don't give up and try again.
- This week we focuesed on the letters Nn, Mm, and Hh. Similar writing motions. The children were working hard translating that to paper! We heard the sounds as we were making them too.
- We worked hard this week identifying the numbers 1-6 and assigning the correct number of items to that number. This work helps our brains "just know" what values look like at a glance. This is a learned skill so it can be practiced!
- As we approach winter weather, please remember to send all the appropriate warm clothes needed for your child to stay warm! It doesn't need to snow to need snow pants. Also, if your child arrives in boots, please send their regular school shoes along. Our gym shoes are meant to only be used in the gym.
- Encouraging family devotions as an important part of your day is close to my heart. Here is a tool that makes devotions something your family can do...now just carve out 5 minutes a day to get close to Jesus! WELS Family Devotions
- Thanksgiving days! You are invited to bring a snack for our Thanksgiving days. Healthy options are encouraged! Cheese, sausage, fruit, veggies and crackers are all great choices. We love the treats too! Remember, many friends may be bringing something so small portions are good. Servings of 6-10 are plenty! We learn on these days how to make good choices!
- We are practicing for our Christmas service in earnest now! The children are doing an amazing job in the classroom! Any extra practice at home is appreciated. In the Christmas service document, you will see dates. Those are the dates we will begin working on that part. The song "Our Christmas Show and Tell" is set to the tune "Who Made the Sky So Bright and Blue." Click in to practice "Our Christmas Show and Tell"!
Our Christmas Service is December 7 at 9:30 am. We will meet in the church basement at 9:15 am. Timing is super important for this date, please begin to plan ahead! There will be regular worship at 8:00 am finishing at 9:00 am. Parking should begin to open up after that. I would encourage you to either attend the 8:00 am service(the kids can do it!!) and then stay for our service OR arrive after 9:00 am so parking has opened up. Please invite all the family and friends to come to our service! Then share this important logistically piece to them as well! Our service will finish up about 10:05 am. We will walk out to the commons and meet you all there! The next worship service begins at 10:30 am. It works really well! Please make EVERY effort to attend as the children have worked so hard for this special assignment...they are the pastors for the service! They get to teach the church family about Jesus! It is amazing! Please reach out with any questions!
For our 3K and 4K students who also utilize Tiger Cub Care, hot lunch is an option. The lunch menu is here!
