- Food coloring and water make a great science experiment! It is amazing to see how the color swirls and twirls and then completely mixes in. We used this experiment to be reminded of Jesus' almighty power. We studied His first miracle - something only God can do. Through that experiment, we saw that Mrs. D. DOES NOT have almighty power! We focused on the help Jesus was giving to his friends and how he showed his disciples that He is God for the first time. His disciples marveled at His power. We do too! Every day we are surrounded by His power, whether in the cold outside or the warmth we are blessed with inside. Jesus' power and glory surround us every day!
- We look forward to our opportunity to lead the crowd of the Emanuel Tigers basketball teams in the Pledge of Allegiance! This is a fun night to get out and see what it is like to be a "big kid" at Emanuel. One of the many opportunities our students have is to play basketball and be a cheerleader. Plan to come, experience some good basketball, have your child center court for the performance of the Pledge, and enjoy a night out at Emanuel! Each student is receiving a voucher during the week for a complimentary $2 snack from our Athletic department! The Girls B (5th & 6th graders) will begin at 4:30p, Boys B (5th & 6th graders) about 5:30p, Girls A (7th & 8th graders) about 6:30p, and Boys A (7th & 8th graders) about 7:30p. All times after the start of the first game are approximate due to the nature of the run times of games! We will perform before the start of the A Girls game. Please arrive around 6:00p as the games have been running ahead of schedule. It is also 8th grade recognition night and WHITE OUT(dress in white!)! Please reach out with any questions and hope you all can make it out!
- We have the great opportunity to sing in church on Sunday, January 26, at the 8:00am service. Please note the arrival change...Please arrive between 7:30am and 7:40am so that we may practice with the Praise Band at 7:45am. We will meet in church. After the service, we will meet you in the Gathering Area. All students are expected to attend as part of our learning process. We will be working very hard for our presentation to glorify the Lord. It is the culmination of our hard work. Praying you can all make it! Here is our song...be careful! It's catchy!! Joyful Noise
- There is fantastic news to share...God is blessing Mrs. and Mr. Schuh with a BABY!! We are so very excited for them. Baby Schuh should arrive this summer in July. This will bring great excitement in the classroom when we tell the students. We will announce next week. This allows you time to have any discussions you would like to first. As Mrs. Schuh's belly and baby grow, we will take a look at God's amazing power in growing that baby! If you would like to know more about how and what we will discuss, please reach out! We pray that the baby and whole family are healthy through the whole process!
- January Thrive Time Video - Responsible decision-making. What an important skill! We help them learn how to make good decisions in the little things while they are little so that when they are big, good, BIG decisions are made!
- We had our first author study. We read several Jan Brett stories. We learned that she enjoys writing about Alaska and all of its beauty. We were learning about new and unique animals. We saw similarities and differences between classic folk tales and native American folk tales. It was amazing to watch the children's intrigue! Check some of them out here. The Three Snow Bears Cozy Those were our favorites!
- Encouraging family devotions as an important part of your day is close to my heart. Here is a tool that makes devotions something your family can do...now just carve out 5 minutes a day to get close to Jesus! WELS Family Devotions
- For our 3K and 4K students who also utilize Tiger Cub Care, hot lunch is an option. The lunch menu is here!
