  • Joshua Fought the Battle of Jericho! We sang this week of Joshua and how God used His Almighty Power to show His people to TRUST HIM! God gave an unusual battle plan-marching, shouting, trumpets-not fighting and weapons. The people trusted God, and He delivered his people a victory. He once again He demonstrates with no uncertainty that we should TRUST HIM. It isn't easy due to our sinful nature to trust the Lord, but He will help us. Trust the Lord and His plan for your life!
  • November Thrive Time Video  Please take a few minutes to review this video.  It helps us understand how our brain thinks critically.  It also gave me some new ideas such as:
    • There is no short cut to memorization!  We can make it more enjoyable when we change the process(short or long), the sound(say or sing), or the who(on own or with others).
    • Having a growth mindset helps children be willing to fail and keep trying.
    • Giving children real encouragement is helpful.  Saying, "Thank you for working hard" vs. "That's wonderful/perfect. Good job."  Encouraging hard work and tenacity creates children who don't give up and try again.
  • Encouraging family devotions as an important part of your day is close to my heart.  Here is a tool that makes devotions something your family can do...now just carve out 5 minutes a day to get close to Jesus!  WELS Family Devotions
  • Here comes winter in Wisconsin!  Please remember, we will go outside as much as possible so send along the outdoor clothes your child needs to stay warm and dry.  It does differ from student to student for students to stay warm so please know your child.  Once it snows(even a little), please send boots, snow pants, mittens, hats, and warm coats.  Warm is the key word because we can spend up to 30 minutes outside! Thin cotton mittens or water boots often are not warm enough.  Parents have found that a dedicated bag for snow clothes is very helpful to keep their boots and other wet items away from folders and snacks.  A cloth grocery type bag seems to be a perfect size!
  •  Also, if your child arrives in boots, please send their regular school shoes along. Our gym shoes are meant to only be used in the gym.
  • Thanksgiving days! You are invited to bring a snack for our Thanksgiving days. Healthy options are encouraged! Cheese, sausage, fruit, veggies, and crackers are all great choices. We love the treats too! Remember, many friends may be bringing something so small portions are good. Servings of 6-10 are plenty! We learn on these days how to make good choices!
  • 3K/4K Christmas Service date change. Due to the renovation and dedication, the 3K/4K Christmas Service has been moved back one weekend to December 15th at 9:30 am. We look forward to celebrating with everyone in the new worship space!
