Christmas JAM!

Image
All young children and their families are invited to join us for Christmas JAM! Come to Emanuel on December 14 from 9-11 a.m. for a morning of focusing on THE reason for the season!  We will learn the Bible lesson of Jesus' birth, sing songs, read stories, craft, and snack!  We will also run, jump, throw, and play in the gym! We pray that you all can join us...and bring your cousins, friends, and neighbors!

Christmas Collection - Coming Dec 13

Image
Christmas is the season for sharing the JOY of Jesus’ birth. One way to share this JOY is gift-giving and caroling to those who are unable to experience that JOY with others.   As a school, we want to collect gifts for the residents at St. Joe's. Each grade is asked to donate, as able, the items shown in the chart. If you can participate, please send items to school by December 11. We will wrap everything on December 13. Students will deliver presents when they Christmas carol before break. Menards has Religious calendars for $4.97. Walmart has slipper socks with grippers for $4.98 and candy under $3 a bag. Thank you for helping us share the JOY of Christmas with others!

Anticipating Worship: Last Sunday of the Church Year, November 24, 2024—Live a Life Faithful to Your King

Image
Followers of Christ are subjects of the King. It may seem obvious to assert that Jesus is no ordinary king, but it is important for us to remember exactly how he rules. As it was in his day, still today the world is eager to deny that he is any sort of king. Some acclaim him as a great prophet, but not the God who reigns. Others acknowledge him to be an enlightened teacher or a useful role model while refusing to offer him total allegiance in life and faith. Even Christians can struggle with the kind of King that he truly is. We often want a king who would be more politically powerful or a paragon of worldly success. But that isn't the kind of King we see today! As the church year comes to a close, Jesus confirms that his kingship is both real and at the same time distinct from any other kind of rule. Jesus stands before Pontius Pilate and demonstrates authority through his own suffering. He stands against the rulers of this world and reminds us of his universal reign. King Jesus, ...

The people trusted God, and He delivered his people a victory. He once again He demonstrates with no uncertainty that we should TRUST HIM. It isn't easy due to our sinful nature to trust the Lord, but He will help us. Trust the Lord and His plan for your life!  November  Thrive Time Video  Please take a few minutes to review ...

Anticipating Worship: Twenty-sixth Sunday after Pentecost, November 17, 2024—LIVE FREE FROM THE FEAR OF JUDGMENT

Image
Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD) affects many millions of adults. It is more than shyness. SAD includes an acute fear of being judged. An individual with SAD struggles with everyday tasks like talking to people at work or school because he is terrified that he is constantly being evaluated. Even if you don’t have that disorder, perhaps you have experienced that uncomfortable feeling that others are watching you, trying to find something to criticize. We don’t want others judging us. It is bad enough listening to the voice inside our own head, whispering that we aren’t worthy. How do we overcome the fear of judgment? It begins by realizing that there is only one person whose opinion ultimately matters—the Judge. Everyone is going to live forever in one of two very different places. Where you spend eternity depends on a judgment that Jesus will render. This week we see why his judgment need not trigger any sort of anxiety. Judgment day is something we can joyfully anticipate. We can live fr...

Mrs. D Shines Bright: A Surprise Award and Celebration

Image
Today, our very own Michelle Dobberstein was showered with love and recognition as she received the prestigious Teacher of the Month award from WIXX 101 radio personalities Corey and Huggie, along with Jenny Loehr from Marian University. This unexpected honor came as a complete surprise to Mrs. D, who was nominated anonymously by one of her preschool parents. The nomination highlighted her dedication, passion, and the positive impact she has on her young students. In addition to the award, Mrs. D received a variety of gifts from WIXX 101 and Marian University, a testament to her outstanding dedication to her students. We are incredibly proud of Mrs. D and her unwavering commitment to fostering a nurturing and inspiring learning environment. Her ability to let the Light of Jesus shine through her daily interactions with her students is truly commendable. Congratulations, Mrs. D! Your hard work and dedication have made a significant difference in the lives of your students. "Well do...
