  • Jesus gave the first communion.  He used the bread and wine.  They were his body and blood.  He taught his disciples to pray by demonstrating his prayers in the Garden of Gethsemene.  He was persistent.  He prayed three times for the suffering to be removed.  He demonstrated humility by praying, "Your will be done."  He showed us that our Father in heaven knows best.  May we often come before the Lord with our problems and requests, our joy and rejoicing, while remembering to pray, "Your will be done."
  • We began our author study of Eric Carle.  We began with my favorite book, "The Grouchy Ladybug."  We also read, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar."  Next week, we will do research to learn about the author, where he lived, how many books he wrote, and what books he wrote.  Take a look online for read-alouds.  There are some fun ones!

  • We will be doing our second round of testing on the computers beginning next week!
  • We're overjoyed to share that Jada Brauer, a 4K student in our class, has received a life-saving liver transplant and is now recovering at home. While she's making good progress, Jada remains critically immunocompromised and will need to travel to Milwaukee for appointments a few times each week. To support her family during this challenging time, we're collecting gas gift cards to help ease the financial strain of frequent trips to the hospital. If you'd like to contribute, please drop off gift cards or financial donations at the office. Please continue to pray for strength and healing for Jada.
  • All families are invited to join us for Emanuel's Fine Arts Fair on Friday, April 19, 5:30-7:30 pm.  Art projects by all the students of our school will be displayed in the gymnasium. Come and enjoy the art, and then sit down at any of the six interactive art stations to make art as a family! Due to the church renovation project and space constraints, there will not be an all-school music performance at the end of the evening this year. Families may arrive at any time and stay as long as they'd like, in the style of an open house. Some upper-grade students will perform musical solos on the stage as background music throughout the evening. We hope you'll join us for this night to celebrate the God-given talents and fine arts achievements of Emanuel's students!
