  • Jesus does miracles because He is God!  God has almighty power.  A miracle is something only God can do.  We were amazed at His power this week as we learned how He helped his friends by changing water into wine.  We used an experiment with food coloring and water to envision what it might have been like.  The children are sure that Mrs. D DOES NOT have all the power  :)  They loved the food coloring.  Try it at home while they tell you about Jesus' power and first miracle!
  • Now that we have closed out half of the year, it is a great time to get together!  Parent-teacher conferences are available in this Signup Genius.  Please sign up for a time that works for you.  If none of the times work for you, please contact me directly.  We will find a time that works well for all of us!   • Our new opportunity to serve has been postponed due to an illness outbreak in the nursing home.  We will not be traveling to St. Joe's on January 29.  We will look for time later in the school year to visit St. Joe's.
  • Sign up! Sign up! Sign up! We have an opportunity to serve!  We are serving the very first Lenten Supper to serve our church family during the Lent season.  Our church family does so much for us from providing supplies and volunteering in our room, to praying for us.  This is a way that we might give back!  This opportunity is February 14 from mid-afternoon until mid-evening or whatever your availability allows.  We need food donations, monetary donations, and volunteers to serve, clean up, and greet!   • Word of Mouth is our biggest advertiser!  Keep inviting your friends and family to join us at Emanuel!  Spots are limited and filling fast.  Encourage applications as soon as possible!
  • 5:30ish. We look forward to our opportunity to lead the crowd at the Emanuel Tigers basketball game in the Pledge of Allegiance! This is a fun night to get out and see what it is like to be a "big kid" at Emanuel. One of the many opportunities our students have is to play basketball and be a cheerleader. Plan to come, experience some basketball, have your child center court for the performance of the Pledge, and enjoy a night out at Emanuel!  Each student is receiving a voucher for a complimentary hotdog from our Athletic department! The Girls B (5th & 6th graders) will begin at 4:30p, Boys B (5th & 6th graders) about 5:30p, Girls A (7th & 8th graders) about 6:30p, and Boys A (7th & 8th graders) about 7:30p. All times after the start of the first game are approximate due to the nature of the run times of games! Hope you all can make it out!
  • We are looking ahead to a celebration of love...showing Jesus' love!  We will celebrate Valentine's Day in our classroom on February 14 & 15.  Children are invited to share the love of Jesus with their friends by bringing a special Valentine for each friend.  Please only place your child's name in the "from" spot so that it is possible for each child to hand out their own.  If we place our friends' names on the cards, we can't read them to hand them out!  The number of cards needed for your child's session: 4K AM-24, 4K PM-20, 3K AM-20, 3K PM-16. These two days we will also invite special treats of all kinds, healthy and super fun!  Any questions, please reach out!
  • Please send warm snow clothes EVERY DAY!!  Even when there isn't snow, we use them to stay warm!
  •  The new assessment piece, Kaymbu, is in place!  We are so excited to share in pictures and anecdotes growth and learning with you!
