- We learned this week about the giving of the 10 commandments. The Lord wanted to speak to His people, and they needed to get ready. When it was time, everyone knew! There was lightning, thunder, a trumpet sound, a thick cloud, fire, and smoke in the cloud. The people knew that God was there. Then Moses was called up the mountain to receive the commandments. The Lord asked the people if they would obey. The people enthusiastically agreed. Then they failed, just like we do. All of our heads hang in shame at our sin. But we do not need to stay sad! Our Savior, Jesus, has come to save us from all of our sins! We are forgiven!
- Small legos were in the small parts area this week. We saw so many creations and partnerships in building! Some of the creations were a diving board, a house, and Mt. Sinai!
- Our Christmas Service practice is in full swing. The children are really working hard and learning so quickly. Here are the parts for the children. Please watch whether it is morning, afternoon or all! Our Christmas Show and Tell
- Our Pizza Fundraiser was a smashing hit! We sold near 5300 pizzas! This was an amazing opportunity to raise funds for playground improvements,. Over $18,000 was raised - WAY TO GO!! 2nd grade sold the most pizzas and will celebrate with a pizza party!
- Please return your progression report card envelopes if you haven't done so already!
- Don't forget to watch the weather! It is changing and gets quite chilly for recess. Please be sure to send appropriate winter clothes for your child to stay warm while we go outside. This is different for everyone, and you know your child best! We will go outside as much as possible. We are excited to see how God is changing our world all around us!
- We will celebrate Thanksgiving with a Thanksgiving Feast on November 22&23 so everyone has a chance to participate! You are invited to bring a snack to celebrate. Healthy options like string cheese, fresh fruit and veggies or sausage are great options. We, of course, will enjoy any of the sweets as well! We will help the children remember why we celebrate and how to celebrate. We work on moderation in our choices so when choosing a snack it does not need to be enough for one for each student. Planning for 8-10 would be more than enough!
- Mark your calendars-Christmas Service Practice is on December 3, Friday, from 2:00-3:00pm. It is important that all children are in attendance for practice. Our Christmas service is on December 5, Sunday, at 9:30am in church. We pray that all the students will be able to proclaim the birth of their Savior, and many family and friends will attend to be witnesses of their proclamation!
